Madison Airport: Read(y) to Wear Exhibition

  • Dane County Airport 4000 International Ln Madison, WI 53704 United States (map)

I’m excited to share that several pieces from my Avant Garde Collection are currently on display at the Dane County Regional Airport Art Court as part of a long-term exhibition running through mid-June. These garments were originally created for the Read(y) to Wear fashion show and are constructed primarily from paper materials, blending structure, movement, and storytelling into wearable form.

As an artist, my work focuses on pushing the limits of unconventional materials—transforming something as fragile as paper into garments that can be worn, performed in, and experienced. Each piece reflects a balance of technical construction, durability, and creative expression.

Featured Pieces in the Exhibition

Out of the 20 selected works in the exhibition, I’m honored to have three pieces included: Solo Dress, Memor(y) Wear, and Colorful Coat. Each of these garments has been a standout in the fashion show—Solo Dress received awards for Best Story and Best Use of Paper, while Memor(y) Wear also earned Best Use of Paper. These pieces represent some of the most defining moments in my wearable art journey.

And it would be a shame not to mention that my mom also has her butterfly piece featured in the exhibition—making this an especially meaningful experience to share together.

Travelers and visitors passing through the airport have the opportunity to experience these works up close, alongside other imaginative paper-based designs. If you find yourself in the Madison area, I encourage you to stop by and see how far unconventional materials can be pushed through thoughtful design and craftsmanship.
